On Campus Writing Support for Graduate Students

Emory Writing Center

The advanced graduate fellows and undergraduate tutors in the Emory Writing Center are available to support graduate students in the Laney Graduate School and the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.

Fellows and tutors can assist with a range of projects, including:

  • course-based writing
  • dissertation chapters
  • conference proposals
  • articles
  • posters
  • abstracts
  • grants
  • job application materials
  • teaching documents

The five graduate students who tutor in the writing center represent a range of disciplines. They, along with the center’s highly trained and highly interdisciplinary undergraduate staff, can work with graduate students from any discipline at any stage of the writing process.

The Writing Center does not proofread work for students. Instead, their individualized consultations equip graduate students with strategies and resources that they can continue to use as they brainstorm, write, revise, and edit on their own.
