When you show up for your conference, the content of which is completely confidential, you will meet one-on-one with a tutor for either 30 minutes or an hour depending upon the length of your paper and what you would like to focus on. Ideally, you will have brought in a copy (or 2, even better) of your essay and a copy of the assignment description. If you have not yet written a draft, we encourage you to bring in an outline, notes, brainstorming lists, etc. You set the agenda for your conference, so we have found that the most successful conferences are with students who have an idea of what they want to focus on: brainstorming, idea development, constructing a thesis, organizing and supporting an argument, polishing your prose, or learning how to catch grammatical errors. Last, we have also found that the best conferences are with students who sign up early in the writing process.Callaway North 205A | (404) 727-0886
