Describe (in a short paragraph) a significant breakthrough in your development as a writer: Throughout the entirety of my academic career, I have always been a prolific writer, and never had a problem filling up pages. It was not until college, however, that I realized the value that simplicity and conciseness can have in anyone's writing. When a simple word suffices, then use it. When a long sentence can be stated more economically, then shorten it. I'm also a believer in the importance of a strongly formulated thesis, the crux and driving point of any paper. A true thesis, in my opinion, should be so determined that it can be expressed in a sentence, a single paragraph, or even an entire page. If you can do this, then you have a true thesis that can be used to compose a successful paper.
