Colin Mcquillan

Colin grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana. He received a BA in philosophy and history from Loyola University Chicago in 2002 and an MA in philosophy from Boston College in 2004. In 2001, he participated in a special program in central European history, philosophy, and politics at the Univerzita Karlova in Prague. He was a visiting researcher at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg in 2006-2007.

Colin is currently a doctoral candidate in philosophy at Emory University, where he is writing a dissertation on Immanuel Kant's Critique of Pure Reason (1781/1787). While Kant took pride in writing in a "dry, merely scholastic manner," Colin strives to write in a clearer, more engaging fashion. He believes that good writing can help translate what is obscure and confusing into clear and distinct ideas. In the process, it opens up new and unexpected worlds for our understanding.
