Home > Schedule a Class Visit

Designed to help publicize and clarify our services, class visits are presentations given by Writing Center Peer Tutors and Fellows.

The class visit period for Fall 2009 is Tuesday, September 1- Wednesday, September 30. If there is need to extend the available dates, we would consider doing so.

How Class Visits Work

Professors may request either a 5-minute presentation or a 15-minute presentation (for English 101, 181 and CPLT 110 classes ONLY). Indicate your preference in the “Additional Notes” field of the request form.

For a 5-minute presentation, a tutor will briefly explain who we are, the services we provide, and how to make an appointment. She/he will give each member of the class a Writing Center bookmark and will give a brochure to the professor.

For a 15-minute presentation, the tutor will screen the Writing Center’s Promo DVD, which is a 10-minute video featuring clips from actual conferences and designed to give students a sense of what our conferences are like. She/he will hand out bookmarks and respond to questions about policies and procedures at the Center. Please make sure your classroom contains the necessary A/V equipment for screening the DVD.
