Describe a significant breakthrough in your development as a writer.
A significant breakthrough in development as a writer occurred when I took my first creative writing class EVER as a junior in high school. I had written creatively for a few years at that point, and I thought my creative juices were all dried up. A few weeks into the class we were assigned to write a poem with 20 lines, and each line had extremely strict guidelines for its content. I thought this feat would be impossible, but I made a poem that I was very proud of, regardless of the assignment. This experience restored my faith in my own creative abilities.
